INTERNATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY

As part of an invited application process, JOP Architekten won the competition with its design for the internationally active insurance company's new office space on Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse. The task was to design a suitable office that meets the requirements of contemporary workplaces and embodies the company's image. The new office is located in the historic and listed former department store building on Bahnhofstrasse, now the Brannhof, and is spread over two floors. 

 The spatial program is divided into a public and internal area. The prestigious customer area includes the reception desk with an interactive LED wall, a spacious lounge with a café bar and two large meeting rooms that can be joined together. The working environment is spread across the rest of the second floor and a section on the third floor. This area comprises around 94 workstations in spacious open-plan areas, several stylish individual offices, three medium-sized meeting rooms and various open meeting zones. Employees also have access to a canteen and three tea kitchens, where the materials with different surfaces and specific CI colors create a harmonious interplay. 

 Overall, special attention was paid in this project to creating a fit-out standard that not only meets the highest standards of ergonomics and aesthetics, but also blends in well with the historic Brannhof building. This is particularly evident in the reception lounge, where Otto Morach's sacred glass art meets the New Work world through the inner courtyard. The design concept was developed in close collaboration within the team and reflects the basic elements of trust, protection and promise of the company through natural materials, a rounded design language and earthy and calming color nuances. As an accent color, the CI red was deliberately integrated into built-in seating niches and selected lighting products, which play an important role in the overall picture and reflect increased recognition values. In addition, a well thought-out plant concept with some specially designed carpentry elements extends through the entire office, creating a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. 

 The highest value was also placed on quality and style in the furnishings. Timeless design classics were carefully selected to emphasize the company's values and integrate them perfectly into the newly designed office. The result is a working environment that is not only functional and prestigious, but also enables quiet and concentrated work while radiating a warm atmosphere.
